Miniseries-Meeting Laura (from Perfume: the Story of a Murderer)
[instrumental]
Frakking schoolteacher.
That’s how Bill first percieved it. Frakking Laura Roslin, Secretary of Education. How dare she flounce onto his ship and demand that he network his ships computers for an "education friendly" environment?
He glares at her retreating back, tempted to yell, "Good riddance!" as well. But he doesn't. There is something about her, something enticing.
"It's just the legs," he mutters to himself as he walks away. "Just the legs and nothing more."
"Colonial Day"-An Irish Party in Third Class (from Titanic)
[instrumental]
Commander Adama can dance. He said so himself. Laura Roslin soon finds out that he wasn't lying.
"Stop, stop! I can't catch up!" she gasps as they dance to a more lively tune.
Bill laughs, setting her off on a giggle fit herself. "Sorry," he finally chokes out.
"It's alright," Laura replies in between her giggling. "I changed my mind. Do go on."
Sometime in Season Two-The Call (from the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian)
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
"It's just a feeling," Bill tells himself as he looks at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. "Nothing more. What would Laura Roslin want from me anyways? What would she see in me?"
Sighing, Bill commences brushing his teeth. He had never felt anything like this since his first crush in first grade. "It’s just a silly crush," he tells himself. "I'll get over it."
He doesn't.
Post "Resurrection Ship"-I Won't Say I'm In Love (from Hercules)
It's too cliche
I won't say I'm in love
I thought my heart had learned its lesson
It feels so good when you start out
Laura is glaring at thin air again. "I am not in love with Bill Adama," she growls as she paces the wardroom. "I have never been and I never will be. It was just a kiss, nothing more."
It's sad how she says one thing and feels the opposite. Laura sighs and buries her face in her hands. "I thought that relationship with Adar had taught me never to put my emotions into the mix," she whimpers. "Why am I so weak?"
There is the soft thud of footsteps and then the newly-promoted Admiral walks in. Laura almost feels like groaning as her knees weaken once again. "I won't say I'm in love," she mutters to herself as she takes a seat. "It's too cliché anyways."
"A Day In The Life"-If I Fell (from Across the Universe)
If I give my heart to you
I must be sure
From the very start
That you would love me more than her
Laura knew that Bill was married. She also knew that she was jealous.
"He probably still loves her," she murmurs. "He must, if he still wears that ring."
Laura wishes that her feelings were just lust. Lust can be satisfied with a frak. But love couldn't.
"I wonder what he'd say if I told him I loved him," she muses. She doesn't act on it, though. She couldn't find the guts to do so. Not yet.
"The Hub"-All I Ask Of You (from Phantom of the Opera)
Then say you'll share with me one love,
One lifetime
Let me lead you from your solitude
Say you want me here
Beside you
Anywhere you go, let me go too
That's all I ask of you
This embrace, this kiss…
"I love you," Laura chokes out between her tears.
The smile on his face makes her heart feel like its gravitational pull has gone. "About time," he says, hugging her.
Laura clings on as if she's drowning and the only thing keeping her afloat is him.
"Sine Qua Non"-'Till There Was You (from the Music Man)
There was love
All around
But I never heard it singing
No I never heard it at all
'Till there was you
Romo Lampkin has a point, Bill had to admit. He had never really accepted or even known just how much Laura had meant to him. Now he realizes it when she is gone, maybe even floating in space like all those people she had airlocked.
He doesn't want to recgonize the implications of that, however.
"Why are you doing this?" Lee asks.
"Because I can't live without her," Bill replies, and it's the truest thing he's ever said in his life.
"A Disquiet Follows My Soul"-Magic Works (from Harry Potter)
And make
Your final move
Mmm, don’t be scared
She’ll want you, too
Yeah, it’s hard
You must be brave
Don’t let this moment slip away
Bill had never regarded sex as a dance.
Yet that's what it seems to be at this moment—he thrusts, she arches, they move to a common, unspoken rhythm. All he feels is her, all he feels is love.
It's the most primitve of dances, but that thought is soon lost, drowned out by all his feelings and all the feelings he sees in Laura's eyes.
It's been a long time coming, really. But Bill doesn't mind as he holds Laura in his arms at last.
They've come a long way.
"Island Stranded In A Stream Of Stars"-For Good (from Wicked)
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...
"I don't think I've ever felt truly at home until these last few months here with you," Laura says, her eyes shining.
Bill smiles, his own eyes replying to that with a, "And because I met you, I've been changed for good."
She gets his message.
Deleted Scene in "Someone to Watch Over Me"-Think of Me (from Phantom of the Opera)
Think of me
Think of me fondly
When we’ve said goodbye
Remember me
Once in a while
Please promise me you’ll try
"Goodbye."
It's amazing how much hurt that little word can cause. Bill feels the tears come to his eyes. He tries to hold it back, but he can't.
He settles instead for kissing her, letting their tears mingle like their bodies once had.
"Daybreak"-You'll Be In My Heart (from Tarzan)
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
She is so frail now. Her hands shake, her eyes are half closed. It's heartbreaking for him to watch her waste away like this.
Bill carries her to the Raptor. It's the closest he'll ever get to carrying her over the threshold of their cabin at the moment, but he hopes he'll be able to do that, too.
Even if that day never comes, Laura Roslin will always be in his heart.
"Daybreak"-Into the West (from Lord of the Rings)
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shores
Laura's dead.
Bill had always known that this day would come. He didn't want it to be so soon.
"I'm going to build it right there, Laura," he says in a determined voice to her as he lands the Raptor near the site of their future cabin. She doesn't respond, but he knows that somewhere, far away, an angel responded to him.
"Daybreak"-There You'll Be (from Pearl Harbor)
In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky
In my heart there'll always be a place for you
For all my life
"I laid out the cabin today," Bill says to Laura's grave. "It's going to have an easterly view. You should see the light we get here when the sun comes out from behind those mountains."
He gazes off into the blue sky, trying to make the clouds look like her face in his mind. "It's almost heavenly. Reminds me of you."
Post "Daybreak"-Without You (from RENT)
Life goes on
But I'm gone
'Cause I die
Without you
It's been a month already.
The cabin is nearly done. There's a stream at the bottom. There is life everywhere.
Grass grows, clouds move, birds sing…
But Bill died on the inside long ago.
Post"Daybreak"-Memory (from Cats)
Touch me
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
"Was it really that easy for you to break my heart?" Bill asks Laura's grave.
"I never wanted to," a voice in his head replies.
Bill closes his eyes and there she is, smiling sadly at him.
Post "Daybreak"-My Heart Will Go On (from Titanic)
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
Laura looks across the river everyday and sees him.
The only time they meet is in dreams, and that is how she knows that he goes on. Nevertheless, waking is painful for them. Laura wishes she was alive.
Across the river, Bill wishes he was dead.
Post "Daybreak"-Ballad of a Bitter End (from Grey's Anatomy)
And when it ends, as it must end
I'll write a book, the saddest book
And it will be our story
The ballad of a bitter end
The book is done.
Bill puts the pen down and looks at what he's written. It's a long, epic tale about the fall of the Twelve Colonies—and how it brought him to Laura. It's a bittersweet love story about them.
Centuries later, a girl named Lily sits down in front of the TV at ten o'clock.
"Previously on Battlestar Galactica," a voice says, and Lily smiles.
"All of this has happened before and all of it will happen again."-After All (from Chances Are)
After all the stops and starts,
We keep coming back to these two hearts,
Two angels who’ve been rescued from the fall.
After all that we’ve been through,
It all comes down to me and you.
I guess it’s meant to be,
Forever you and me, after all.
"Hello," the woman sitting next to Bill Adams on the plane says.
"Hi," he replies. She seems familiar.
In his mind's eye he sees a woman in a lavender suit, stepping down a ladder. He sees a man looking at himself in the mirror. He sees the two of them kissing in an auxillary airlock.
"I'm Laura Roslyn," she says, extending a hand.
"Bill Adams," he replies, shaking her hand. The gesture seems familiar somehow.
It hits him with all the force of the Galactica ramming into Cavil's Colony. "Laura," he breathes.
She looks at him.
"I remember."
