Aka: the "eight friends stuck in a house" meme from Facebook.

Pick 8 random friends you interact with a lot. (You’re number four.)

OMG IT’S A BSG PARTY. LOL.

These eight people you just picked are stuck in a house with you for a whole year. There is no leaving the house at all until the year is completely up. If you had to choose a person for every question below, write down which person it would be.

You may have just noticed that all of my userpics (except for the Vienna Teng ones) all reverted to default. That's because I changed the keywords... and added on some new ones! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY. :D

The awesome[info]misscam extended my paid account and also gave me extra icons! In return, I'm working on her new layout. Made good progress today - did her icons and headers. I might do variations.

I also need to test out new layouts and tinker around in CSS. ;]

lily_winterwood: (you call this coffee garfield)

Welcome to my lj, my newfound buddies[info]own_the_sky (*bows to thy epic icon-making skillz*) and[info]outintherain! Hope you've got your seatbelts fastened; it's going to be an insanely bumpy ride. :D

And for my other flisters, it's going to be the same insanely bumpy ride you've all undertaken so many times before. Heh.

I've been reading BagEnders - for all you psycho LotR fans who don't mind crackfic, GO READ IT. It'll make you double over laughing. Seriously. What's not to love about the Fellowship in the houseshare from hell? Kinda makes me want to write a drabble of life on Earth v.2, with immortal BSG characters all stuck in the same hous. Starring Colonel Tigh as Gandalf, Adama and Roslin as Aragorn and Legolas (kinda shows you how slashy BagEnders got), Starbuck and Leemo as Merry and Pippin (ditto), Billy as Boromir, Chief as Gimli, and I guess Gaius as Frodo, suffering from Post-Tool Of God Syndrome and still seeing Head!Six all over the place as he tries to cook dinner and act all housewifey over everyone else.

I'd totally see them reminescing over dinner about how we've progressed/recessed, complete with stories about Adama being in the US navy as an Admiral, how they all fought in the Civil War except for Roslin, who went to live with the Sioux/Comanche (total Dances With Wolves reference there), how, before that, how Gaius made a total fool of himself in Ancient Rome... :P

Anyways, I'm going to cut off my rambling. Why?

Cause I'm going CAMPING. Again. In the friggin' desert. There's no sense of temperature in this, is there?

Of course, there probably won't be intrawebz, so I'll be gone for the weekend starting Friday afternoon. I think.

But Friday's the seventeenth, so...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (in advance), MRS. F!
(and a happy belated birthday to [info]julyflame and [info]lil_ani and everyone else on my flist who had a birthday recently!)

I hope every single one of you birthday kids (and kids-at-heart) have a frakking awesome day! Don't eat too much cake! I ate too much ice-cream cake at my cousin's b-day party and I've renewed my hatred for whipped frosting. Especially the awful pale green sort that looks fit for Cake Wrecks. And speaking of wrecked cakes, hope you didn't have to send a photo of your cake over to that awesome blog because someone mispelled your name/mispelled "happy birthday"/had bad grammar/inappropriately decorated the cake/used incorrectly placed quotation marks/created a fugly cupcake cake (ptooey!) with four-inch thick frosting/etc.

Many happy returns! If you have requests for a sticky note doodle, don't hesitate to ask. :]
(confound it, where did I put the Doc Cottle one that I drew three months ago?)

I need therapy. Now, please.

Anyways, in happier news! I made some Cylon Rave icons for icedteainthebag. They're not brilliant, but I was bored.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!!
(to my flisters/RL friends in the U.S., of course)

What are you guys up to today? I just came back from a parade and I'll be going to a concert later today featuring the music of Billy Joel and ending in fireworks.

Don't blow yourself up trying to light a firework or stuff your face so full of hot dogs that you can barely walk the next day! ;D Especially you, Caitlyn. Don't get hurt and don't eat too many veggie dogs.

And Mrs. F, I really miss you! How are you today? Are you watching the parade at Huntington Beach? The one the radio calls "the biggest Fourth of July parade this side of the Mississippi? I hope you don't blow yourself up with the fireworks either, but knowing your healthy eating skills, I don't think you'll get bloated by hot dogs. Unless your husband can grill up some nice ones.

I seriously miss you! Did you get the promotion pictures yet? And the icons? They're all true. Sending my love over...

I ♥ you, Mrs. F! Take care and have a happy Fourth of July! :]
lily_winterwood: (my spy cameras bsg)
Pulled something in my neck today and it HURTS whenever I try to turn my head. Grr.

At this rate I probably will have to miss out on the big epic ice-skating reunion that one of my classmates has planned for tomorrow. This does not make me happy. Grr.

I wanna take a nap. :[

Yesterday I went to watch the 2D version of Monsters vs Aliens with an old friend, Christine. Such. An. Epic. Movie. Though I can't help noticing that Galaxar's spaceship looks like a Cylon Baseship gone wrong.

There are many copies... and they have a PLAN!!!!

Why does Earth have to get attacked so often? Why not... oh, I don't know, Mars? But then I guess the danger isn't really brought home for us. I did like how everything happened in California and that the President (still guys? SERIOUSLY?) can play the piano and screams like a little girl.

After the movie, Christine and I commented on each other's yearbooks (we brought them) and talked of life and the PPC (she's the human inspiration for Agent Christianne Shieh - sadistic, messy with occasional OCD impulses, a great friend notwithstanding...)

For dinner we went to a curry resturant. I think I get my bitching skills from my mom; she spent a good deal of dinner complaining and arguing over our orders with the manager and the waiters. I don't think we'll be popular at resturants. Ever. (maybe except at that Korean BBQ resturant...)
lily_winterwood: (me and mrs. f heart)
First of all, yes that icon shows me and Mrs. F.

I'm feeling depressed. STILL. Argh, I need fic!therapy. Any help?

At least I might have a Vienna Teng concert to look forward to and also a day with a friend from elementary school, Christine (aka Christianne)
lily_winterwood: (vienna teng)
Holy crap. School's out on thursday.

Wow.

That's kinda freaky.

Mrs. F has something for me. I haven't the slightest clue what it is and she won't tell me. *pouts* Well, they say that the wait is sometimes better than the gift. I've never really believed that...okay, maybe once or twice. :P

it's time I started confessing some stuff... )

The VOTES sim went out predictably - the American Independent Party, which is extremely conservative and the total opposite of Peace and Freedom, won the elections for all three periods. But they're the ones who stride around in suit jackets and ties and briefcases. They look the part. Peace and Freedom had to look casual, which really doesn't benefit our image. I pin all the blame on Mr. W, who is obviously biased and needs to stop putting prejudices and stereotypes on parties. We're not hippies, for frak's sake. We're LIBERALS. Grr.

Anyways. All we get are extra cookies. I'm going to make an icon that says: "I did a bunch of campaigning only to get a stupid cookie." :]

Is there something else I'm forgetting? *scratches head* Well, [info]laurawillows seems to be back for a while. Yay! *squishes* And I did do a bit of shameless flattery of the principal (Dr. T) during break. Tee hee.

We're getting yearbooks tomorrow, which is epic! Glee! :]
lily_winterwood: (mary thinks your fic sucks bsg)
[Poll #1414101]In sad news...Mrs. F had to put her dog to sleep. Poor Magsie... :[

In happier news... I am totally obsessed about Dances With Wolves right now. Watched the movie about three times. It's so pretty. *drools*

...crap, I lost my train of thought and Lord of the Rings (the movie) beckons. *disappears*
lily_winterwood: (alter-ego is prez grey's anatomy)
Ah, life is epic.

Over the weekend I drew the same person for about 130 times, running the person through every emotion LJ has a moodtheme for. No reason, I guess.

Probably not going to do it again. :P

Today we filmed a scene for our video. (We only really had an hour) I had this big-ass statistics dump and a few other scenes before I get kidnapped! Haha! We played around with makeup and wigs; Mrs. F let us borrow hers now that her hair's growing out (it's freaking CURLY when it used to be just fluffy and epic!). She has a wavy brown one, a short black one, and two red ones. Rachel and Caitlyn looked awesome in the two red wigs. Rachel moreso than Caitlyn, but Caitlyn's wig had a near-mullet. :P She was all like, "I look like a guy with boobs!" and stuff.

Caitlyn was being pretty frakking perverted. She was laughing at all of the awkward parts and we had a blooper where the camera started and she forgot her lines. Off camera she had a fake British accent. It was epic, haha.

And there was the end part where I'm in the bushes and I get attacked... Caitlyn put on a lot of makeup for that one and wore my swooshy LotR cloak. She then proceeded to pick me up and I was screaming. For reals. ;P

Tomorrow we're doing some more filming. Yay?
lily_winterwood: (carlisle twilight)

(btw, I'm lilywinterwood there, if you've been hunting around for me. :P I doubt that, though. Even if "Lost on ABC" is one of the few following me there [and that leads me to think "why the hell is Lost following a BSG fan?"].)

Anyways. I went camping with a bunch of other people from my Chinese school. I know, fun fun. Whatever. I'm going to ditch Chinese in favor of French anyways... that language is absurd. You have to learn more than 26 characters...and I kinda lost track after 100.

Back to the main topic. I went camping. It wasn't the whole "Lily in the Rough" thing with bear attacks and canoeing and pissing in the bushes...it was relatively civilized. We went to a Recreational Area, which means that there were actual, functioning (No comment about clean, though. I think a bunch of squirrels attacked the toilet paper in the ladies' room.) restroom and shower facilities. My aunt, being the nature-phobe that she can be at times (meaning that she loves hiking and stuff, but draws the line at sleeping outdoors in a nylon tent in a place where mountain lions and bears are rare, but have been spotted), rented out a yurt. If some of my f-listers can't remember their history lessons, I'll just drop a hint about them...they're slightly more sturdy than your average tent, and the Mongolians used them (I think they still use them) because of their nomadic lifestyle. These yurts weren't going anywhere, mostly due to the fact that they've got two bunk beds in them and electricity. My parents set up a tent at the campground a few minutes away from the yurts.

Camping was pretty awesome. We went boating and fishing on the huge pretty lake nearby (no swimming--the lake was a source of fresh water, and besides, who wants to swim in algae-infested lakewater, anyways?) and we also invaded visited the nearby town of Solvang. Solvang's a pretty and quaint town heavily influenced by Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and (most obviously) Denmark. We had some Aebelskiver (or whatever the frak you call them; I prefer to call them pancake balls) and visited an art and history museum. My friend Vickie was on a diet and got a little addicted to the pancake balls. Her sister Angelina didn't help. Really.

Angelina: Come on, Vickie, I'll share!
Vickie: Food is a drug. Food is a drug. You get this momentary pleasure and then...FAT.

I saw a Norway flag and I squeed.

Back at the campsite, we had a huge campfire and toasted marshmallows (l love setting them on fire). We also played Mafia two times and the second time around I swear we played the naughtiest game of Mafia known to our age group (aka Teenage Virgins Who Know Just Enough About Sex To Be Overly Perverted [and in my case, write smutfic]) . Now I know what it's like to be the star of RPF. :P

cut for innuendo, courtesy of Daniel )
But besides that, camp was great. :P
lily_winterwood: (bella/edward twilight)

Semi-belated, but whatever! There will be a stickynote doodle coming up, but first I have to draw it. :P

HAPPY FRAKKING BIRTHDAY, [profile] laurawillows !
lily_winterwood: (carlisle twilight)
[Error: unknown template qotd]Haha. Some of my friends don't know that I like BSG right now.

And others are surprised at just how much love making fun of Harry Potter these days. They're surprised that I still ship Harry/Hermione and Draco/Ginny.

And I suppose I might as well admit that I hate Muse and Imogen Heap (but they're not pop, I think). And Miley Cyrus. Her voice is too flat.

As for the Twilight conundrum... I'm very Switzerland on it. There are parts I think are cute and other parts I'd gladly burn out of the book. Ditto for the movie. Maybe even the main (male) characters. Bella's a Sue, Alice is quirky, Emmett's okay, Rosalie's... okay, Jasper's interesting, Esme's my kind of mom, and Carlisle is frakking awesome and he looks pretty damn hot in the movie...

But the main male characters are... well... they have their good points and bad. Ed's corny and kinda creepy and definitely a Gary Stu. Jake's a little bigoted at times (until Renesmee the Speshul comes along). But Ed's rich and can bribe his way into anything (what wouldn't I give for a Harvard spot...;]) and Jake's funny.

I suppose I'm Team Carlisle. There's another thing people don't know about me.
